International Day for Countering Hate Speech – June 18

Adopted by the United Nations in 2021, because of the rise in hate speech around the world.  

Hate speech is a behavioral and discriminatory expression  

against individuals or groups based on:  

- Religion  

- Race  

- Disability  

- Gender  

- Language  

This day is for promoting peaceful coexistence, combating racism, and spreading a culture of love and peace.  

Especially in places like Sudan or countries going through conflicts.
