WAELE Africa President/Founder, Otunba Basirat Nahibi Bags Global Excellence Award

It was a grand occasion at the Ladi Kwali Hall of the prestigious Sheraton Hotel and Towers as the President/Founder of WAELE Africa Foundation, Otunba (Dr) Basirat Nahibi-Niasse, was one of the 20 awardees at the 6th edition of the World Habitat Leadership Conference/Honours with the Theme: Effective Leadership – Its Role in Securing and Ensuring a Sustainable Habitat 2.0.

Otunba Nahibi-Niasse was conferred with the award of Global Excellence, Philanthropist of the Year – Women Empowerment and Development for her role in empowering women across Africa through her foundation. The WAELE Africa boss who was represented at the event by Hon Anastancia Ndhlovu, dedicated the award to women. She said women must be involved in leadership positions globally saying more women should be part of the economic and political development of their respective countries. This she said will lead to accelerated growth and development in the world over.

Speaking with WAELE media, the President International Centre for Diplomacy, Ms Karima Rhanem from Morocco, who was given Hall of Fame, Award for Global Excellence in Public Policy and Integration, said her centre later in the year is planning an exchange programme in Morocco where Nigerian youths will be part of a leadership programme to prepare them for future challenges.

Other award winners are Barrister Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Jack Rich Tein Jnr, Hon Juan Nancy Cassell, Prophet Edo Branson, Dr Mike Omotosho and his HRM Alhaji Mohammed Haliru Dantoro. Among others are Hon Diepreye Abaye, Ambassador Gilead Okolonkwo, Dr Ahmad Adamu, Hon Charity Vedelago and Dr Festus Askhia. They are all awarded for their exemplary qualities which have impacted positively on humanity.

The threesome of Ms Karima Rhanem, Prophet Edo Branson and Ambassador Gilead Okolonkwo were inducted into the Hall of Fame by the organizer.
