May 09, 2024
ADDRESS BY OTUNBA DR. BASIRAT NAHIBI - NIASSE, OON. FOUNDER/PRESIDENT, WOMEN ADVANCEMENT FOR ECONOMIC AND LEADERSHIP EMPOWERMENT IN AFRICA (WAELE AFRICA), ON THE OCCASION OF WAELE AFRICA 20TH ANNIVERSARY.
On behalf of myself and my entire family, I sincerely thank every foundation member, board of trustees, and all executive members of the WAELE AFRICA Foundation.
My service to humanity journey started with faith, and here we are today celebrating our 20th years anniversary. TO GOD BE THE GLORY.
Since WAELE AFRICA was founded 20 years ago, we have worked extremely hard as a team to overcome overwhelming challenges that could have tested the fortitude of even the most tenacious optimist.
For two decades, WAELE AFRICA dared to envision a world where women in Africa were not just beneficiaries of change, but active participants, leaders, and peace bringers in their communities.
We have stood as a beacon of hope, advocating for gender equality and peace and striving to create a world where every woman in Africa has the opportunity to thrive.
Our journey has been marked by both triumphs and trials, but through it all, our dedication to our cause has never faltered.
• We have witnessed the transformative power of empowerment firsthand. We have seen women break free from the chains of oppression, rise above adversity, and seize control of their destinies.
• We have provided them with the tools, resources, and support they need to unlock their full potential and become leaders in their communities.
With hope, passion, energy, and intellect being the most visible and available human resources noticeable in all of our members.
We courageously, and boldly embarked on this selfless endeavour to become champions of global peace and relentless advocates for the total emancipation of African women.
We have therefore invested our valuable time, precious material, and scarce financial resources to promote the cause of peace, by empowering women and displaced families in areas devastated by incessant wars, violence, and communal conflicts.
We are convinced that our collective sacrifices will continue to impact positively and sustainably on African and global peace.
WAELE AFRICA would not be the organization it is today without the individuals who dedicate their lives to service to humanity.
• Our prayers go out to those going through health challenges, may the Lord heal them speedily.
• We also continue to pray for the souls of members who have passed, may the Lord forgive their shortcomings and grant them everlasting peace in heaven. Amen
• Our Prayer goes to the people of Sudan, Palestine, Ukraine, and other war-torn countries. May the Lord bring Sustainable PEACE to these countries.
